The Industrial Training Fund’s (ITF) Skill-Up Artisans Programme (SUPA) has progressed to screening and admission for its 2026 training intake.
A 16-week training programme under the Industrial Training Fund’s Skill-Up Artisans Programme is scheduled to run at Innovation Growth Hub from October 2026 to January 2027, with attendance requirements tied to eligibility for transport stipends.
Innovation Growth Hub (IGHub) in Abia State, Nigeria has been named as the training centre for a cohort of the Industrial Training Fund’s (ITF) Skill-Up Artisans Programme (SUPA), with artificial intelligence listed as the trade area in an admission letter dated 15 August 2026.
The letter states that the training is scheduled to run from 12 October 2026 to 30 January 2027, covering 16 weeks. It also requires trainees to maintain at least 90 per cent attendance and follow the programme’s rules.
The federal skills-development initiative designed to improve artisans’ technical competencies, support certification and strengthen employment opportunities. The ITF describes the programme as part of its wider effort to develop a more skilled workforce in Nigeria.
What the Training Covers
The admission letter identifies Artificial Intelligence as the trade area but does not provide a detailed curriculum. It therefore remains unclear which AI tools, technical topics or practical projects participants will cover during the 16-week period.
Attendance and Transport Stipend Requirements
The admission letter sets out several conditions for participants:
Training period: 12 October 2026 to 30 January 2027.
Duration: 16 weeks.
Minimum attendance: 90 per cent.
Programme rules: Trainees must follow the applicable requirements in the Admission letter.
Transport stipend: Subject to meeting the attendance threshold and other programme requirements.
Offer acceptance deadline: 26 October 2026, as stated in the letter.
What SUPA Is Designed to Achieve
The Skill-Up Artisans Programme is an ITF initiative intended to train, certify and professionalize artisans across Nigeria. Its broader objectives include improving the quality of technical services, strengthening skills and expanding access to employment and business opportunities.
The AI cohort represents a technology-focused trade area within that wider programme. Its eventual value will depend on the curriculum, practical experience participants receive and the credentials or opportunities available after training.
